It’s time for the Green Ribbon Arts Festival!

Join us from Monday 26 October – Saturday 7 November for the inaugural Green Ribbon Arts Festival, powered by the Mental Health Foundation.

During the fortnight you can experience a series of panel discussions and networking sessions where you will hear from experts on relevant issues and have an opportunity to ask questions that matter to you, with potential to influence the future of arts and mental health in Wales; have a taste of arts activities that help people with mental ill health, and immerse yourself in a wonderful arts programme. There is a session that is of particular relevance at the moment, that will look into the support needs of those who work in the arts, including their mental health.

The full festival programme is now available on the What’s On page. You will need to book onto the panel discussions, networking sessions, taster sessions, and a couple of live events in the arts programme, as they are presented live on Zoom. If you have any difficulty in doing this, please let us know by emailing All events are free to attend.

We’ve assembled a high quality line-up of people that are at the forefront of arts and mental health work in Wales, involving our funders – Arts Council of Wales and the Baring Foundation, those leading on Arts in Health work in Health Boards, highly experienced creative practitioners, supremely talented artists, and those in voluntary organisations and charities who play such a vital role in this area of work.

The festival has been organised during the Covid 19 pandemic, and that will be reflected in the programme. We took the decision to move the festival online when it became clear that we would not be able to host events in person, at venues that we can hopefully go to in the future.

A big thank you to the organisations and individuals who either appear on the programme, have helped to make things happen, or who have put us in touch with people who will be featured in some way. Without your support this festival might not be happening. You know who you are!

As the festival strapline suggests, we hope the event will demonstrate how the arts can help to prevent and alleviate mental ill-health, challenge perceptions on mental health, and improve artist’s networking. This is a great opportunity to showcase what you do, put new ideas forward, and meet like-minded individuals.

We hope you have an enjoyable and useful time at the Green Ribbon Arts Festival. Let us know through the website, e-mail, Twitter, and Facebook. Don’t forget to use the festival hashtag #GRAFCymru

We look forward to seeing you.

Thank you.
